Throughout my streaming experience over the years and, no matter the device in use, I’ve come to use these as my “go to” apps. From streaming apps to utilities, I consider these apps essential for everyone to have on all their devices.
Some of them newer and, some older, this list might change over time but, I will update it as time goes by to keep everyone up-to-date on the latest and greatest. Whether you’re using a Firestick, Fire TV device, Android, or Android TV device, these apps will surely come in handy and, all of them can be installed, for free, from my Filelinked store.

KODI
1.) Kodi
Number one on my list of essential apps has, and probably always will be Kodi. Now there are varying opinions on whether Kodi is even relevant anymore in the streaming world and, I assure you, it very much is. All of the streaming apps that have come and gone over the years owe their entire existence, in one way or another, to Kodi. Kodi addons paved the way for everything that came after it so, it’s fair to say that, Kodi, will always be the “king” of streaming apps and is, by far, the best media player for streaming.
If you have real-debrid, I highly recommend the Seren/Shadow build found in the group and on my YouTube channel. It is, in my opinion, the best way to stream content. I made the build for my own personal use but, decided to share it with everyone once I saw how others were paying extra fees for streaming services, app subscriptions or memberships, and VOD access. Always ad-free and never any fees outside what you pay for your debrid account, you won’t find a better streaming experience for less, I guarantee it! CINEMA HD
2.) Cinema HD
Number two on my list is Cinema HD. This app has been around for a few years now and has proven over and over again to be the people’s choice for simple and straightforward streaming. Whether you have real-debrid, or not, this app offers great streaming links. If Kodi isn’t for you or, you just want a quick way to access content, this app should cover your needs. This is, however, one of those apps that will plague you with ads so it is HIGHLY recommended to block the ads in this app with an ad-blocker, or, even better, by changing your network settings on your device (covered on my YouTube channel).

NOVA TV
3.) Nova TV
Coming in at number 3 on the list, Nova TV. This app is fairly new compared to the others but has proven itself to be a top contender in the free streaming app world by offering access to links that other apps may not find. If you like Cinema, I would highly recommend Nova TV as a backup app for those times when you have trouble finding links for something you’re searching for. Nova TV is an excellent app but, like Cinema, it is recommended to block its ads or use an ad-free “mod” of the app. Bee TV, Tea TV, and Viva TV are very similar apps to this one if you’re looking for alternatives.

UK TURKS APP
4.) UK Turks App
Number 4, the UK Turks App, is a newer app that was once widely known as a Kodi addon. The makers of the Kodi addon have taken everything that was great about it and turned it into its own standalone app so that you don’t need Kodi to enjoy its content. The UK Turks App has a little something for everyone from live British TV streams, to concerts, documentaries, films, and series. Don’t be misled by the name, there is tons of American content in this app as well. Instead of “scraping” (or searching the web) for links to content, this app seems to host its own links to the content provided. This, of course, will limit the content available in the app but, there is vast library of content contained in the app nonetheless and, is pretty reliable when it comes to buffer-free streaming. Unlike the other apps, this one will not let you sync your real-debrid account or anything like that but, you’ll be pleasantly surprised I think by the selection of content it has to offer and the reliability. Currently, in the Filelinked store, there is only an ad-free “mod” of this app so, no need to worry about blocking the ads.

TUBI TV
5.) Tubi TV
Coming in at number 5, we have the Tubi TV app. This app has been around for many years now and could be considered the “free Netflix” of streaming apps. I believe it only works in certain countries if you don’t have a VPN that supports streaming from outside an app’s regionally locked locations but, for us Americans, this is a great app for streaming older films and series and, recently added, live news streams from around the country. The ad-free “mod” of this app allows you to enjoy the content on offer without commercial interruption and will auto-play series back to back when streaming episodes. It will also play another, similar, film after you finish the one you were streaming. This app does not scrape for links but, instead, plays the content hosted on its own servers. Signing up for a free account will unlock the ability to “resume” where you left off in a series and keep a history of your “previously watched” content.

ANALITI
6.) Analiti
Number 6, the first “utility” app on the list, is ranked here because this app should be in the arsenal of any streamer! Analiti tests your internet speeds on your device and works with both WiFi, and Ethernet connections. This app is a must for knowing what kind of speeds you are getting on your device, which, is very important information to know when streaming content. On average, streaming 1080p content will require a constant 5 to 7mbps and, for 4K, about 25mbps. This app will let you know if you have the speeds to stream certain resolutions and will give you a good idea of what your device can get, in terms of speed, from your router. I won’t go into all the details of bandwidth speed here but, just know that this app is very useful for troubleshooting speed issues.

MX PLAYER PRO
7.) MX Player Pro
MX Player Pro is a media player app that, in some ways, is similar to Kodi. You can’t use it to add addons like with Kodi but, this app will let you use it as your “default” player for most third-party streaming apps, as well as letting you play content directly from your device, external storage, or network locations. I would recommend using MX Player Pro as your default for all your streaming apps that allow it. By adding the “custom codecs” to it, (available in the Filelinked store), it will allow the playback of almost any format including DTS, Dolby Digital, TRUE-HD, AAC, and others. It will also let you play episodes back to back if you have series stored on your device or external storage. In my opinion, this is the best media player after Kodi and will load up faster than Kodi when used as the player for your streaming apps.

TV BRO BROWSER
8.) TV Bro Browser
The TV Bro Browser application is, in my opinion, the very best browser for use on TV devices for browsing the internet as well as for downloading files. This app works with remotes to be able to navigate webpages with a “mouse” style cursor and will let you download files on any Fire TV or Android TV device. It handles downloading files much better than the Downloader by AFTV News app and has a better compatibility with websites versus the Downloader app. I would recommend going into the settings of this app and changing the “user agent string” to “Chrome Desktop” for the highest compatibility with websites. Currently, I think, there is no way to change the download location of where downloaded files go with this app so, hopefully, that will become available in a future update. As it stands, downloads go to: Storage / Download but can be moved with a file manager app which brings us to number 9.

TOTAL COMMANDER FILE MANAGER
9.) Total Commander
Total Commander is a “file manager” application that works well on TV devices with your remote. There are many to choose from these days but, I find myself always coming back to this one for everyday file management on my devices. It is simple to use, pretty straightforward, and does its job well. Total Commander will even let you make copies of any of your installed applications without having to use a “cloning” app for the procedure. This is useful if, say, you wanted to get an app from the official app store on one device and copy it to another so that you can install it on the other device. It will even let you send files directly to your cloud storage if you have Mediafire, G Drive, or a similar cloud storage account. By “long pressing” (holding ok/select for 2 seconds) on any file, Total Commander will bring up a list of many options for what to do with the file such as: cut, copy, move, paste, send to, etc. I just love this app for its ease of use and the built in features like the cloud storage integration that I mentioned.

DNS CHANGER LILLY
10.) DNS Changer Lilly (or Lilly DNS)
Finally, coming in last but definitely not least on the list, DNS Changer Lilly or, also called Lilly DNS, is a must have app for anyone who travels with their device and wants to block ads. Even if you’re not travelling, you can setup this app to launch on startup and block ads in your third-party streaming apps. See my YouTube channel for a setup guide for this app and how to set it to start when your device boots. If you can’t change your network settings manually, or if you’re travelling and don’t know the default gateway of the WiFi connection you’re using, this app is the perfect companion to use to keep blocking those pesky ads in apps like Cinema HD, Nova TV, and others. By adding the most current AdGuard DNS addresses to this app (see here and click on Android: https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html#instruction – use the numbers for “ipv4 default servers”) you can be sure to continue blocking ads no matter where you are or what type of internet you’re connected to. I always include and setup this app every time I setup a new device for any of my friends or family members so that I can be certain they don’t have to deal with ads and can continue using official versions of third-party apps and get updates. Setup tutorial (covers Fire TV but works the same on all devices, just be sure to use the latest DNS1 and DNS2 numbers from the link above as the ones in the video may not be the very latest even if they still work): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjGRheGuZJg
In conclusion, I hope that this list helps you on your streaming journey and, again, I will update this list as necessary as time goes by to keep you up-to-date on the very best apps to keep on your streaming devices. This list is in no way a “complete” or, final, list of apps but, is more of a “highly recommended” general list of apps no matter what type of device you are using for streaming. I have other favorites depending on the device, or services used but, this list covers all devices in general and will enhance your experience no matter what your situation.
